The name’s Bruce and, yes, I’m a mountain boy. Raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia, Upper East Tennessee and North Carolina. Nurtured in the customs, grace, simplicity and beauty of the region and her people.
I decided to start this blog to record some of my thoughts and impressions of the area. In the day-to-day fight for attention that the trivial urgent demands, I’ve found that taking some time to be still and observe really helps me gain peace, order and perspective (POP).
My pre-POPed life was an ever-spinning cyclorama constructed of error-prone 1s and 0s. In other words, I was in computers for 30+ years. Custom programming, consultation, advising and even co-authoring some textbooks (https://www.amazon.com/Bruce-Denton/e/B0058YCW9A/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_2).
So anyway, I added up all the ones and then multiplied the result by zero and here I am, comfortably nestled in the Cherokee National Forest sans the bits.
Thanks for coming along, and yes, comments are welcome!
